While the datasheet is not the worst engrish I've seen, it is pretty lacking. Undocumented features, fails to show something as simple as how the 5-byte temperature and humidity bits are arranged, says command 0xE1 is for initialization but doesn't say when to use it or how to set operating mode and what they are and so on. It's an annoyingly bad "datasheet" but luckily for me some other poor guy has wasted time figuring it out so I don't have to. Just frustrating when they're THAT lazy.

Read the code from one of the existing libraries. It's just an I2C serial interface supporting standard- and fast-mode speeds. That protocol has been around since the 80s. The problem is the crap datasheet but just grab the missing information from some existing library.
